Not many hotels where you are encouraged to wander in the kitchen to watch dinner being prepared. And yes, the food is excellent. We slept one night in Kandy to catch the train to Ella. We had a very pleasent stay. The food was amazing. The host took really effort in it. The place is also really calm in the nature. A lot of plants and animals live in the garden. We even saw a big turtle. The room is clean and quite luxe. We defenitely could stay longer.
