Not the safest place to shop or having dinner.
Not the safest place to shop or having dinner. Can be mugged in center of town , especially the elderly , be careful .Suggesting after sunset be at your location. Much better to order food directly to your guest house. Not much to do for young couples good stay for two days at the most. Vryburg was a perfect halfway stop on our way to Upington from Johannesburg. We loved our overnight stay at Poetry Guest Rooms. We had dinner at the Spur, the service was great and the food was up to Spur’s standard.

From a distance POV, this was the perfect place to stop over...
From a distance POV, this was the perfect place to stop over on our way back from the Kgalagadi, making the 2nd day travelling a short 4 hours to JHB. Although they say there is quite a bit of crim in Vryburg, as long as you are aware at traffic lights etc, especially at night, you should be ok here. We found the people friendly and even went out for dinner at night. We stayed at Game View Lodge which was luxurious and had a great location overlooking a game area.
