It’s a beautiful property with lovely lounges and dining room. Loved our room with a balcony, desk, sitting area, dresser, closet and separate shower and tub. The breakfast was excellent as was the dinner we ate there one night. Outdoor patio is set up for lounging and having a pre dinner drink. 10 minute walk to the lake or the nice-size town of Ambleside.

We selected Ambleside as it is central for touring the Lake District. It is a pleasant Town with plenty of shops & restaurants. It also has the biggest garden centre I can ever remeber being in. It was our first visit to Ambleside and we weren’t disappointed. We had a meal at Luigi’s which was amazing. The staff were very friendly and I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I am a fussy eater. The weather was glorious so we had a few drinks in the beer garden at the Royal Oak pub. Ambleside is a good starting point for day trips around the lakes. There are plenty of restaurants including a Michelin restaurant...advance booking advised. There is a waterfall 20 minutes walk from the town centre. Pubs with live music most evenings. Windermere is only about 7 minutes by car or half an hour walk.
