The place has lots of history and the personal encounter with our host Gísli made our stay all the more special. The spotless apartment is at the end of a quiet residential street overlooking the town. It's on the lower level, with the owner and family living above. The place is very spacious, with a large foyer, bedroom, well-equipped kitchen and sitting area, and a laundry/bathroom area with washer, dryer, and an excellent shower. The bed was comfortable, the view of the fjord was beautiful, and the location is great. Excellent hiking up the hillside behind the apartment, as well as convenient driving access to Dynjandi waterfall and the red sand beach. An excellent restaurant in the town (Stúkuhúsið) serves delicious lamb, fish and desserts. There's a good grocery store and a tourist office in town as well.
