Overall good experience.

Artist Residence Cornwall, hotel in Penzance

The unique and original rooms at the 17th-century Artist Residence are each uniquely designed in an eclectic, rustic style, with a curated collection of limited edition artworks throughout.

I liked the artwork and the decor of the inn. It was very convenient to have a lounge for an early breakfast or evening dinner/drink. The staff was very friendly. The bathroom was great with a heated towel holder and rainfall shower. I also loved the natural lotions and soaps that were free. The room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable.

Easy self-check in even though we arrived late at night. Mike, Ally & Elvis are wonderful hosts. Mike recommended lots of places that we shouldn’t miss in Cornwall. Fabulous town, it’s got culture, it’s got architecture, it’s got a great rugby club, it’s got a busy harbour’ it’s got great cafes and restaurants, a stunning promenade and a lot more besides! Check out what’s going on at The Acorn Theatre which is brilliant. For a shortish trip see what’s on at The Minack. Best beaches are Sennen, Porthcurno, the Lelant ones, the St. Ives ones, Hayle Towans and Praa Sands. Perranuthnoe beach is good at low tide. Go to St Ives by train - the view from St Erth into St Ives is breathtaking !

Glad we got tickets for the Minack Theatre and explored the Gobal Telecommunications Museum, took the Coaster bus several tiimes, including to Land's End and walked the Coastal path to Sennen. Enjoyed the Penlee art gallery, especially in the midst of reading "Summer in February." Enjoyed a meal at the oldest pub, and at the Longboat Inn. The staff at the Info Centre were the best - gave us so many tips and set us on the right buses.

i like walking on the promenade, along to Newlyn, took the Mounts Bay coast path to Marazion, took the bus to Trengwainton gardens- lovely to see the magnolias, rhododendrons and camellias - interesting walks round the gardens and a lovely cafe with friendly staff and good food. Visited Trewidden gardens by bus and also took the train to St. Ives- a lovely scenic run along the coast. Penzance town has a nice selection of shops and it is worth exploring the back streets and the area round Chapel street. On previous visits have been to the Morrab gardens and other parks. Penzance is easy to walk round, has a good bus service and the tourist information staff are very knowledgable and helpful.

Went in the end of February, it was a quiet time with everything closing by 10pm, and last buses leaving early, but it's just as lovely if not more so as any other time of the year could be. Even for hiking, if you get ready for the wind, the rain, the fog, the mud and the cold.

We stayed at the Mount View Hotel for one night to visit Penzance. The Hotel is very close to Penzance: 7 minutes by car, or you can take the bus from the bus stop by the road in front of it. The room was with twin beds and a bathroom shared with another room. Both the room and the bathroom were clean and very comfortable. The beds were perfect for a relaxing night. Breakfast is served downstairs, both cooked (full English breakfast) or cold (cereals, juice).

The hotel was in a great location in a quiet road on the edge of Penzance, an easy walk into town or down to the promenade. The room was comfortable with everything we needed - maybe a little small. The ensuite shower room was good and the breakfast choices great - everything thing including cereal, fruit, yoghurt and a cooked breakfast as well. The owner had lots of very useful tips about places to visit, where best to park and places to eat tin the evening.

Had to wait outside for 1 hour to get the access code. Beds where two singles not a double. Wifi code did not work and did not receive reply about the new code. For 140£ it was a rip off but i had no where else to go. Stayed at the Queens hotel for 100£ the next night which was considerably better. This is the only bad review i have ever given. I tend to do more research y'know? Just being Honest.. Hope the owner sorts it out..

A very nice older building with well appointed rooms. Very close to the waterfront and great walks back to Penzance and Newlyn, where there were some great seafood restaurants. Close to St Michaels Mount, just remember to check the weather as you may have a bumpy boat ride in front of you. The hotel is easy to access and while parking is in the street, there is no problems finding a spot near by.

Shocked and horrified to be told the day before we were to travel that the Queens Hotel's resaurant was closed. If we had known we would have gone elsewhere. As my husband is disabled and other local restaurants were closed this caused us the greatest upset and inconvenience. The point of our short break was to be served good hot food in pleasant surroundings.

This is an apartment that is located near the bus/train station so access to same is terrific. The bedroom is large, the bed comfortable and the kitchen is user friendly. We had easy and quick access to the owner on some questions and ours were answered within 15 minutes. Overall… Penzance is a great place to visit and I would certainly book this again.

Simply perfect in all respects and that’s coming from a couple of rather picky customers. If you are looking for a room of boutique hotel standard in a perfect location in Penzance without paying a silly price look no further. Ali was wonderful and so helpful to accommodate a last minute change of plan due to family illness.

Hosts are Sally & Alan—very nice and helpful with daily journeys. Breakfast served individually in A pleasant dining room, for all guests. Room was well appointed, bright, with a small bathroom. Everything very clean and well planned. The best choice of B & B’s in the Promenade area of Penzance.
