Situated in Tangalle, a few steps from Wella Odaya Beach, Ananya Beach Resort features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge.

This was (as already six years before) our highlight of our Sri Lanka travel. The hotel is so beautiful, right at the beach. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The room were clean and big, we had booked sea view and it was stunning! We will definitely come again for our third time.

Be one of the first guests at this newly renovated colonial home. This home has air-conditioned rooms with its own private bathroom.

We took the Honeymoon bedroom ( even if it wasn’t our honeymoon) because the room had a beautiful terrace with sea view. It was clean and pretty big !

The place is just a few steps away from the beach. We just jumped in and had a sea bath whenever we wanted. There was AC and Hot water in our room. Didn't expect that. Really worth the money. There was a pool table in the bar and fellow travelers stop by to play pool and vibe. Had a wonderful time and hoping to return again soon.

    The town has very little to offer.

    The town has very little to offer. It’s a noisy, chaotic typical Sri Lankan town. The only redeeming factor was Silent Beach on the Western side of town. We also enjoyed a nice meal at Cactus Lounge.

    Tangalle is a fairly sleepy town, with quiet beaches. Great place for a rest and recharge. There are a couple of supermarkets in the town centre, and a bottle shop. The beach is countless bars and restaurants.

    I liked the size of the city - just right to walk anywhere, plenty of options to buy fresh fruit, fish and good local food. The bus stand was easy to be found. There were always tuk tuk drivers around for when you needed it, but sometimes they were too eager to give you a ride even if you didn't want to. The city always felt safe, even at night.. even for a solo traveling young woman. There was a great food booth near the bus stand selling the best shawarma ever! There were plenty of beautiful beaches around, but the sea was too stormy. Nearby in Kapuhenwalla is a good turtle conservation project, where you could go see turtles hatch and lay eggs. I am definitely coming back~

    The Hotel Lankavatara was amazing - we can recommend it to anybody! The staff was great, helpfully and friendly, especially Mr. Malshan did a really great job in the service! The beach was incredible! Just wonderfully!!! The only thing is, that swimming is not possible due to high waves…

    Tangalle is really nice but it is far better just 2/3...

    Tangalle is really nice but it is far better just 2/3 kilometres up the coast at Marocolyia beach and lagoon.Very peaceful and tranquil. This where Coconut Island cabanas is.There is also a small lake about 200 meters from the accommodation which is full with wading birds.Flamingos,Sacred and Glossy Ibis etc etc.

    I really felt at home here! The hosts went out of their way to care for me, welcoming me with a fresh smoothie and continuing to shower me with fresh fruit and snacks during my stay. Delicious food clearly made with love. The accommodations are clean and comfortable- AC room with fan, en-suite bathroom, mini fridge, etc. the highlight of my stay however was definitely the exceptional service and treatment from the hosts. Highly recommend booking here for a homey stay a stone’s throw from the beautiful Tangalle beach!

    It's an absolute gem if you are looking for a calm, relaxing vacation on the beach near the ocean. The hotel sits just 50 metres from the beach - you can see the views of the ocean from your balcony. The surroundings are amazing - you can walk along the vast shore for miles without hardly meeting anyone, except for a crab or two :). Compared to other places near Sri Lankan coast that we visited during our trip (like Unawatuna, Galle) this was by far the best beach experience. We would come back again without a doubt.

    Everything, it's for me the best place all over Sri Lanka. It's a olace where your soul can take Rest! No tv but nature as the best tv ever! If you're licky, you can see turtle hatching oder laying eggs at the beach! Because it's the last Hotel, and after you have only nature, it's sooo calm and nice...so your soul can take a real rest! If you feel you ned people around you walk along the beach to tangalle...within around 30min you'll be there...on the way find fanrastic shells everywhere... I will come again!!

    EVERYTHING. 1- The hotel is amazing. Very quiet. 2- The food is really good and not too expensive. 3- The rooms are like a dream come true. 4- The swimming pool is big and you can easily go to the beach. 5- The best was the staff, from the recepcionist (who was really interested in learning some Spanish and always available for us) to the waitresses.     Location was absolutely stunning and probably the best of our trip to Sri Lanka. The room was a good size with mosquito nets and right on the beach with a great view from the door. There was also a new sister hotel next door with a great pool, pool bar and restaurant that we had full access too which made this stay even better! Service was outstanding and the staff even purchased a new sports channel while we stayed so we could watch a premier league football match during our stay.

    Hotel is beautiful, located in a nice garden with a nice view on the mangrove. There are lots of animals you can spot from your balcony (especially the peacocks). Beautiful swimming pool, staff is taking good care of it (looks new). Breakfast was very good especially the Sri Lankan version, although you need to order in advance. Staff is ok, discreet. Very close is one of the most beautiful beach of Sri Lanka in our opinion (with a nice restaurant).

    The family is just amazing! On top of the great ocean view and the path that takes you to Goyambokka or Silent beach in few minutes, they were very supportive and helped us a lot when I got strong fever. They took me to the doctor and gave me all the support I needed, I will always be grateful for it! I would recommend to everyone to stay here, immerse in the green and surrounded by trees and animals. probably our best stay in Sri Lanka!

    The hosts are the most genuinely supportive and warm people you will ever meet and show the true welcoming spirit of hospitality. In every country there are good people. greedy people, indifferent people etc but if you stay there you will experience the best of the people of Sri Lanka. Also, about 1 minute walk to beautiful beach that usually has 3 or 4 people on it at most. Great Sri Lankan cuisine and feel in your own home atmosphere.

    I came for one night and stayed... Very large room with plunge Pool on my terrasse. View on the Ocean. Delicious food. Great staff. The pool is large and deep, great swimming. And I had very good professional Ayurveda massages. Soo good. And the beach is exceptional! Never saw such a beautiful, lonesome Beach. Don't miss this hotel if you come to Sri Lanka! You'll be amazed. I'll come back for an Ayurveda cure.

    There is nothing chaotic and fast about this place, is as serene as possible, spacious, beautiful and comfortable with the attentive staff communicating via WhatsApp giving you the privacy you need.     Located at the begin of the centre of Tangalle. Tangalle has the best beaches around the south coast, not very busy , we prefer this. The guesthouse has a nice family. We did also the laundry directly by the hotel. Breakfast simple and good. Spacious room with AC. There is also a good barber shop close by, nice guy works there!

    The hotel is located by the side of one of the best beaches in Tangalle, Goyambokka beach. We stayed in one of the cabanas for two nights, and you can listen the waves from your bed. Note that if you want the Sri Lankan breakfast you need to tell them a day in advance, I will recommend it. The western breakfast was very average.

    Amazing place to stay. Kasun is the best host, always available to help with a tuk tuk or scooter rental. Great location as well within walking distance of tw beautiful beaches and lots of restaurants nearby. All in all the room was great value for money and was our favourite hotel that we stayed in the whole of Sri Lanka.

    Super nice hotel!Great.Everything was nice.The room was wonderful,very clean and outside is very cool.Staff was very hospitable and there for every need of us.Breakfast was also good.Good restaurant.The area around the bar is relaxing in the day time.Amazing!Close to the beach.Would definitely recommend Thank you!

    It is very close to turtle beach. Good location for turtle watching. It has an inhouse restaurant, which is good, as the hotel is a bit in the middle of nowhere (10 km from the centre of Tangalle). Calm surroundings. Coffee was ok compared to other Sri Lankan hotels. The staff of the hotel was nice.

    Very close to beach, the staff were great and the fold was also nice. The manager was helpful and arranged a dinner on the beach on the first night. I would recommend this hotel.

    We decided to take the villa with private pool. Generally said it was a nice place, stuff were very friendly. Breakfast and Dinner were also delicious. Hotel beach was nice.
