Hosts Inge and Albert were very welcoming and we appreciated them sharing so much info about things to do and places to go. Greenhouse for breakfast was a delight - both the food and garden views. Our upgrade to a suite was a delight and we loved bathing under the stars!

Howard met us upon arrival to hand over the keys and walk us through our cottages. The cottages are very comfortable, spacious and very well appointed; perfect for self-catering. The property has beautiful views over Prince Albert and is a short drive away for the main road and restaurants. This wasn't our first stay at the Karoo View Cottages and it won't be the last!

Prince Albert is a beautiful quaint little town that makes you slow down and just appreciate your surroundings. Slow life, no rush! Everyone greets! Lots of history that has you in awe because you are also contributing to the of the locals keeping their town going when you buy at the market, shops, restaurants and museum. It feels like "Home".

We only had one full day in Prince Albert, and took our hostess's advice to visit the fig farm about 25km out of the town ( figs were in season ).
Driving through the desolate Karoo is a wonderful experience, and a visit to the farm is highly recommended.
There are plenty of restaurants in the town - we ate at one ( The Rude Chef ) - service was excellent and our fish and salad done to perfection.
We were surprised not to see high walls or fences around the properties and don't recall even seeing burglar bars on any of the doors and windows - apparently there is very little crime in the area.

A small, charming, picturesque town with abundant sunshine, although rather hot in the summer months, situated at the foot of the impressive and very scenic Swartberg Pass. A number of quaint old buildings, a reasonable selection of restaurants, a fine hotel and a good number of excellent guest houses, a surprising range of local produce, such as wine, cheese, olive oil and lamb, and a brilliantly clear night sky, ideal for star-gazing.

If you are a cycling enthusiast - a great place to do some good training, especially hill climbing up the Swartberg pass !!
Winter is also a GREAT time to visit - indoor fireplaces in most establishments and a relaxed vibe.

Prince Albert is a small town in the Karoo which is very neat and well maintained. It is quiet and has an air of tranquility. The town is also very safe and one can walk around without and fear of harm. It has a variety of little specialty shops which are nice to browse through and also has coffee shops and restaurants. Our third visit to Prince Albert and we will be back again next year.
You cant go wrong staying at the Karoo Chat in Prince Albert. Beautiful setting and accommodation, fine attention to detail, wonderfully clean and thoughtfully furnished.
I loved staying in a spot that made you feel as if you're part of the Prince Albert fabric, being walking distance from eateries and the Gordon koppie trail, perfect for sunrise or sunset.
Sandra is a charming host to her guests and leave nothing wanting.
Definitely a strong recommendation from my side for anyone wanting to spend time in this pretty Karoo town.
Inga and Albert are attentive and friendly hosts. Albert showed us around when we arrived and also recommended a hiking trail and restaurants. They have a lovely property and we would certainly choose to stay there again! (of the 3 Prince Albert establishments we stayed in during April and June of 2022, this one is our first choice for future stays if we book for bed and breakfast and not self catering).
Inga prepared a delicious breakfast - refer to their photos for the breakfasts and view.
Acacia Cottage is in walking distance to Prince Albert center, which is a "safe" town,
but the setting with a view to grass land from the stoep gives you the feeling to stay at country side.
The cottage is very comfortable, having all needed for a self-catering stay.
The host is always available, very friendly and having alway helpful tips to explore the area.
We can highly recommend to stay there and will be back soon!!
Lovely and squeaky clean property, walking distance from sights, art galleries and shops, saturday market.
Very well equipped kitchen for self self catering. Provided wood and fire starters for one BBQ. In your private courtyard if you choose Olive cottage.
The renovated cottages in old style is just magnificent.
Good wifi. Erika van Zyl is extremely friendlyand attentive. She is an artist....her gallery is a must see!!
Don't look any further. The Olive Thrush Cottage is fantastic! It is spectacularly clean, well thought out, cosy and charming. From the heater and electric blankets in the bedroom, to firewood and milk and rusks, all comforts have been thought about. I liked the secured parking. The town is cute and there is a Spar just a short distance from the cottage. We had a lovely dinner at the hotel in front of the fire.
Their electricity backup system made current South Afrucan loadshedding problem almost irrelevant. Conveniently situated in the centre of the small town it is quick and safe to explore stores and restaurants on foot. Yet there is a good size secluded swimming pool in the garden. An excellent full breakfast menu that matched standards in a top class hotel.
We left both sets of keys in the car by mistake and the doors immediately locked us out. We had no phones, money or ID documents and the owner was helpful and kind to us during the 5 hours it took to get a locksmith to come from George and take the 2 minutes necessary to open the door. It was very much appreciated as the hotel was fully booked at the time.
I never give 10's across the board. This little place, in the quaint little town of Prince Albert was a treat. Even the family dog gets a 10! Great host, great location, great bed, great shower, great garden . If they had a golf course I would have stayed for a month..
The hosts being away, we couldn't met them.
Nevertheless, we spend 2 nights in Prince Albert : charming little town with a very nice Art Gallery.
Good place to stay on. We would recommend for people who are on the garden tour though the Swarberg pass.
Relaxing stay in beautiful guest farm in the Karoo not so far away from Prince Albert. Very quite and peaceful with a clear view of all the night sky and stars. Guesthouse very cozy and firewood provided for fireplace on a cool evening.
Centrally located on Church Street in Prince Albert. Stylish rooms & cottages, discreetly separated within the pretty garden. The owner/manager Johan is friendly & responsive.
