Hvammból Guesthouse is a small, family-run guest house situated 10 km from Vík. It offers studio apartments featuring a private entrance and small patio from which guests can enjoy views of the hills and endless sky. This was an excellent place to stay very close to Vik and the famous Game of Thrones black beach (and also close to the Vik black beach of course). We got to see an amazing clear sky and the Northern lights during the night as well as a wonderful view through our window in the morning. The studios were great, equipped with everything we needed to cook our own meals, and they have complimentary tea and coffee. Definitely recommend staying there!

Fantastic breakfast, and a good location if you're self driving around the south/golden circle. Very very good value for money, just a short trip out of Vik.

Bitra Guesthouse is a 40-minute drive from Reykjavík. Thingvellir National Park and Geysir are 50 km away. Northern Lights spotting is possible during winter. Breakfast was great. The house itself was very interesting, an old woman's prison apparently.

It is situated 33 km from Skogafoss Waterfall and features a shared kitchen. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. Such a lovely place. The room and kitchen are spotlessly clean. Einar and Ragga took the time to show us their sheep and horses. Their three dogs are so cute and friendly. We spent the evening playing with them while watching the sunset.
