Waking up early to the sounds of birds, sitting on the balcony to watch the sunrise, eating breakfast, and watching fishermen on the lake. Perfect!!! I felt relaxed and enjoyed every minute.

If you are a real traveler, the kind that wants to experience actual culture; the people, food, and local environment, then this is a wonderful homestay. Embrace Sri Lankan culture; eat the food, hang with the locals, and pay in rupees! What a great experience. I highly recommend this place.

Ravi the owner is very kind, humble and helpful, he even showed me around the lake with bicycles. And he always finds the solution;-)

Luxman is very enthusiastic and friendly, always patiently answering my questions about transportation, location, etc., and always attentive to my needs in terms of accommodation and eating. 3. I really like Polonnaruwa. If I have a chance in the future, I will come to this lovely town and Luxman Guest House again. 4. Hope everthing is fine.

The property is located few minutes walk to the ruins and 3 minutes walk to a big lake, where you can have a leisurely walk and enjoy a beautiful view. You can also hire a bicycle at the property for 800 LKR. Kalum, the property owner, does great elephant safaris. His safaris are better than organized tours, cause he doesn't follow 10 other jeeps. He will take you different route, where you get to see more elephants without disturbing them and from really close up. I had a jeep to myself and i absolutely loved it! Would highly recommend this safari. You can also buy precious stones from Kalum, as his family runs a mine and have been in a business for many years. Kalum is very knowledgeable about many things and will look after you. The property has very good WIFI.
