'The Plum’, as we affectionately call our home, is located in a quiet residential neighbourhood in Louis Trichardt (Makhado). Apart from welcoming individuals and couples, The Plum is highly suitable for families and groups of up to 6 individuals; and long stays. With a fully equipped kitchen and barbecue facilities, and about 250m from the nearest grocery store, guests are able to prepare their own meals, with the option of enjoying their meals in the dinning area or outdoor. The host provides complimentary tea and coffee; and 5L of prepared portable water daily to guests of two or less, and 10L to groups of three or more. Children of three years and below will enjoy a cot to sleep on, and a high chair to eat and bond with parents. Guests are in close proximity to restaurants, fast food outlets, hair dressing, and laundry services; and shopping centers. The copious wardrobe space allows for the storage of belongings without things getting in the way. The lounge, with sofas and satellite television, allows guests to keep abreast with national and international current affairs and business news, or just to relax with any of the drama or movie channels. Guests traveling for business have a dedicated work area with an ergonomic chair. High speed internet is available in all areas of the property. The Plum uses solar power as the main energy source; and complemented by the national grid, there is guaranteed energy supply for work; ironing of dresses; and to preserve food, drinks, or medicine; or just to relax. Oh! there is a guitar for lovers of string instruments.
The host is an education management, law and policy professional. She seeks to provide comfortable, home-away-from-home accommodation to travelers, so that they focus on the business or leisure of their travels. Her past-times include gardening, jogging, and volunteering in community-based educational initiatives.
The neighbourhood is residential, at the foot of the Soutpansberg mountains in Louis Trichardt. It is 1Km from Hanglip forest reserve hiking trail; about 1Km from the Louis Trichardt golf club; about 30km to the Ben Lavin Nature reserve.
