Grab a table at the cafe outside the Adlon and just sit for a bit with a drink and a snack - or have a meal; the food is great. Read up on the history and pay attention to the lines of the Cold War era walls in this area. - There's a great photo just inside the Adlon entrance that has the disabled ramp to really help you see where the walls were with relation to the Gate.

So much history regarding Brandenburg Gate.
So much history regarding Brandenburg Gate. Before you go here go to Checkpoint Charlie museum and watch Reagan's "Mr Gorbachev, tear down this wall" speech in full, made at Brandenburg Gate. Inspiring.

Very impressive.
Very impressive. If you go into the DZ Bank you can see an interesting sculpture. Hotel Adlon brings back memories of Michael Jackson dangling his baby son Blanket out the window. Watch out for cyclists as you walk through the gate as you can wander into their path/trajectory whilst marvelling at the gate!

An ideal location, just a short walk from the Alexanderplatz train station with excellent connections to inter-city and long distance trains as well as to the airport. Also, easy tram access to downtown (Brandenburg Gate, Museum Island) but we opted to walk. Plenty of restaurants nearby, and very close to the Hofbrau House Berlin. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Lots of hot and cold options, bread, fruit, juices and coffees.
Good location, walking distance to Mall of Berlin & Brandenburg gate. Hotel staff are friendly, polite and accommodating. Big shout to Mohamed who went the extra mile for us during check-in.
The place is very tidy and really good value for money. A mall is really close (at Postdamer Platz) and also a contemporary-like park. You can rent bikes from the hotel, which I did and it was great! Brandenburg gate is like 30 min away on foot and even less by bike. Has a Berlin-like vibe!
The large entrance to the hotel is full of art and feels luxurious. Staff were always friendly and helpful. The rooms are basic, but with everything we needed. Fridge, kettle and tea/coffee facilities. The window was big and easy to open to cool the room for sleeping. Bonus is the Free small spa, with swimming pool, sauna and steem room. The location ideal with plenty of shops and restaurants and the Brandenburg gate just a short walk away.
The hotel is in a very good location close to the Brandenburg gate, metro stations and other sights. The room was clean and spacious, especially for the price we paid. The lobby is absolutely beautiful and a great place to sit at any point in the day.
Fantastic location round the corner from the Brandenburg Gate and Holocaust Memorial. Everything within walking distance - the Museum district, Bundestag, Checkpoint Charlie etc. Professional set up with helpful reception staff. Apartment was quiet, clean and had everything we needed for a short stay.
Tha location of the hotel is very nice, close to both Alexanderplatz and Brandenburg Gate (by foot). Metroline U2 also very close. The rooms are very clean and the bed is so comfty. We had a problem with AC but the maintenance guy (from Poland) was so helpful and kind (he made our day).
Amazing rooms and great service as expected from the Marriott brand. Next to Mall of Berlin and walking from Brandenburg gate. neighbourhood is lovely even at night and good restaurants to eat around. Would definitely come back!
Clean and warm hotel. The bath in the room is an additional bonus after the long walking in the city. Rapid check-in, check-out. Comfortable underground parking. Nice location, we get by walk to Brandenburg Gate and other attractions in the city center.
Great location, within walking distance to Checkpoint Charlie, Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag Building, Topography of Terror, Metro stations, Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. Close to the metro, one stop away from Potsdamer Platz. Easily take the metro to the East Gallery. Had some great options for food and restaurants. I would recommend this hotel because of the location and the rooms. Our room was Double Standard room, it had good space, clean, I loved the blackout curtains.
