Honestly this hotel was where I was at most peaceful, I think people don’t know about it much so it feels like it’s just you in the jungle. Which is exactly what I prefer. The pool was very clean. There were a few ants in the room but honestly we are in the middle of a jungle so there’s bound to be a few ants anyway. The staff is extremely extremely hospitable. They do not try to cheat you in anyway (mentioning cuz the other hotel I stayed at did). But the staff at Cottage Sigiriya was the best. Do not think twice definitely book this place.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel like family not guests .. and the food was the best we have had so far .. from the traditional sri lankan food such as curries to the spanish influenced potatas bravos.. everything is cooked fresh ..an open kitchen so you can watch or as I did .. had a morning cooking lesson to make string hoppers , coconut sambal and Dahl.. .. too good ! . The rooms are large .. plenty of storage and sockets next to bed and great hot water shower. Pool , jacuzzi and wildlife in the garden.. location is amazing ..so quiet but can walk outside and there are shops and a cultural center with local entertainment . Beautiful walk to a lake also for the sunset... we were so happy to have chosen this place . Transport to anywhere can also be provided .

Welcome to our peaceful Nature Villa, nestled just a short distance from the majestic Lion Rock, only 1 km away. The location was perfect as both Sigiriya and Pidurangala rocks were within easy reach and the Dambulla Caves could be comfortably accessed via tuk tuk. Our room was of a v high standard , the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of hot water . The breakfasts were tasty , varied and plentiful , the evening meals were equally tasty and v reasonably priced though the selection was more limited . The staff were exceptional and really put themselves out to ensure our stay was an enjoyable and memorable one.
