Beautiful Canarian style buildings in the 'old' town and lovely plazas. Plenty of good restaurants (we loved Arcon Tapas, Bambi Gourmet, La Taperia, Restaurant Herreria to name but a few). Easy access to other areas by buses. Good walking routes close by. Fantastic rugged coastline with crashing waves. Weekends can be a bit busy, even in winter (February/March). Loro Parque is a must.

Its peaceful and tranquillity although we did travel in February. Weather was hot with lovely breeze. Found a lovely little spanish burger bar Tui Burgers, very reasonably priced, friendly staff and lovely food. We hired a car as it was around an hours drive from villa to Siam Water Park and Mount Teide and 15mins drive to Lorro Parque. Both the Park & Lorro were busy even in February - would imagine they get overcrowded in summer months. Great place and would definitely go back.

This is not a bump bump music town it is for couples and families. There is a good contrast between old town and new. There is a mild surfer's beach at one end and a black sand beach at the other with the old town and harbour in-between. There is a good mix of shops and restaurants. It is flat walk right along the the water front. There are several parks to sit and relax in.
La Fragata at the old harbour is a great pub that also does coffee.

There are beautiful views, with beautiful black sand beaches and banana trees. The ocean from the north side of Tenerife is way too aggressive 🥲 with great waves and no possibility to swim.
The only tourist attraction is Loro park. Siam park and whale watching is on another side of the island. Though the prices for accommodation are pretty acceptable here.

I first visited P de la Cruz in 2005.
I first visited P de la Cruz in 2005. The town has become much more prosperous & international in the intervening two decades with many well known retail brands now well established here.
End of January/early February must be popular because we found the town crowded at every hour of the day or night. However, it is spotlessly clean and the new floral Avenue from the shopping centre to the Harbour/seaside is a welcome addition. I also appreciated the attractive new statue of the fisher girl selling her wares with a basket of octopus balanced on her head. (see photos).
Staff in cafes are polite and friendly. Prices are reasonable.
Food appears to be only average but we ate well at the Semiramis hotel.
The weather is idyllic; never too hot and often a fresh breeze blowing. Small wonder Tenerife is known as the Island of Eternal Spring.
Puerto, on NW coast of the island, receives a little more rain than other parts but has been suffering from a lack of precipitation in recent years. However, the abundance of colourful vegetation hasn't suffered unduly & the Botanic Gardens in La Paz are a shaded paradise of exotic greenery. Very restful & well worth visiting. (see photo of the Lily Pond there).
Finally.. did you know Agatha Christie was a resident here in 1927? (See photo : a selection of her book titles on a flight of steps in the old town). Every 2nd year there's a festival of plays and films in her honour...the centenary year is now only 3 years distant!

This is not a beach resort even though it has a few black sand beaches. It is primarily a resort for enjoying the superb surroundings, views and climate. It is pleasant to stroll around the resort. Bear in mind that it does rain here quite often which is why it is so green and verdant.

This was an amazing studio in Puerto de la Cruz. My balcony looked right on this little harbor that people would swim in. Anne-Lie is an awesome host and helped me with anything I needed. I was there during carnival and the parade and night events happened right outside my balcony, so I didn't have to deal with crowds . Wifi, full kitchen, shower, laundry machine, bed, sofa, all great! There are even beach chairs and other things if you go to the beach. Amazing place. Will stay there again when I go to Puerto de la Cruz!!!!!
This is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. It is in a superb location above the town with a lovely walk through gardens to get to the town centre. The walk back is up about 250 steps but taxi about 5 euros! The food in the Hotel is excellent. Great choice for breakfast. We were B and B but half-board seemed good value. Room had view to sea and mountains. Staff friendly and helpful. The fact that this is a family-run hotel is very evident. Probably suits couples more than families.
The hotel has been newly refurbished and the interiors look nice and new.
The room and the bathroom were spacious and the room also had a useful balcony; the breakfast is presented in a large buffet with a lot of options, the quality of food and drinks is average.
I really appreciated the location of the hotel, close to Puerto de la Cruz's centre and facilities.
I would definitely recommend the property, the swimming pool upstairs is amazing.
Perfect location in the heart of Puerto, close to bus station as well. Very clean and well equipped. Leonardo was very welcoming, responsive and happy to help any time. Apart from nice balcony overseeing Playa del Muelle, the building also has very clean pool with amazing views. I will definitely book again for my next trip to Tenerife. Highly recommended
Everything is new and the interior design (except for the animal pattern curtains) is nice. You can find (probably) the best pizza in Tenerife right outside the apartment in Pizzeria Arena. The owner speaks English perfectly (unlike a lot of the other people on the island). The wifi has no issues and I was able to do conference calls without a problem.
The sea view, helpful staff, cleanliness, relax, great selection of food for breakfast as well for dinner, soo wide and comfortable beds...everything was perfect, thank you so much!
Even there are only a few parking places right next to the hotel, you always find some free area within walking distance. So rent a car and explore Tenerife :-)
Friendly, welcoming staff, providing comfortable, clean accommodation in a brilliant location. Good varied breakfast provided with plenty of choice. The rooftop solarium and pool has spectacular views across the North Coast of Tenerife. I highly recommend this hotel and I will return.

It was by far the VERY BEST hotel we have stayed in on any of the Canary Islands, there was absolutely nothing to fault..the attention to detail was incredible..especially the cleanliness..I have never seen a hotel so clean. The staff were super friendly and the food was excellent.
Everything was perfect. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was really good. The pool was great and the room was absolutely perfect for a summer holiday. We were in "My favorite club", and it was the best choice. We truly could recommend Alua Tenerife!
Great hotel in Puerto de la cruz, Tenerife
The rooms are very comfortable, the stuff is so nice and welcoming. There are 3 swimming pools, one of them is acclimated. It is a bit far from the center (15 min walking). Perfect place to stay for vacation
Well, the good thing(or only good thing!!)about this place is the staff. This is an old hotel
with all old amenities but well maintained... Credit goes to the staffs there.
Lovely location. I highly recommend it. Great breakfast, very nice stuff, best location in Puerto de la Cruz. 10 for the cleanliness of the room, the pools and all the areas.
The hostel is nice and modern. The location is perfect. It is in the centre of Puerto de la Cruz. The capsule is very comfortable. It gives you privacy.
This was way better than a lot of 3-stars hotels I've stayed in. Great value for money, and location just 1km on foot from downtown. Breakfast was good
